At the Australian Governance Academy, we value privacy and transparency, so we want to let you know about our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Here’s a quick summary - a snapshot of how the Australian Governance Academy treats personal information and data.
- If you create
You own the data in your account.
Your information is private by default (except if you have made it available via a public link). We don’t use your information for purposes unrelated to you. Some uses we do make of your data includes, for example, in our improvement diagnostics tools, we may aggregate usage trends around the services that are most useful to you. This is done so we can make more accurate recommendations to you around use of our services.

We do control and analyse usage data about you (for example, looking at page view data, useful pop ups and tools that you use): to make recommendations to you on the support of better programs which we will include in our future pop ups and on our website making your experience more relevant,
We also aim to improve the user interface, and to maintain a consistent and reliable user experience, and to improve services by looking at the quality of the information that we provide you. This is so that we can work on our existing features and build new ones to optimize your experience.
However, to the fullest extent possible we aggregate and anonymise data about you so that you are not identifiable. We do not sell your profile data to marketing firms.
We do use and analyse usage data (page view data, response rates and metrics) to help ensure the experience of program building is most relevant to you, to improve the user interface and our services, to maintain a consistent and reliable user experience and to build new features. We use profile data to help us to improve the quality of our service.

“Apps” means any software written by us and provided to you for use in your development
"Data" means any data provided by you or with your authority into our Website.

What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?
Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. Examples of Personal Information we collect include: names, addresses, email addresses, phone and facsimile numbers.
This Personal Information is obtained in many ways including interviews, correspondence, by telephone and facsimile, by email, via our website www.kandu.online, from your website, from media and publications, from other publicly available sources, from cookies, and from third parties. We don’t guarantee website links or the policies of authorised third parties.
We collect your Personal Information for the primary purpose of providing our services to you, providing information to our clients and marketing. We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure. You may unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing lists at any time by contacting us in writing.
When we collect Personal Information we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it. Any use of this type of information will be in an un-subscribed and / or aggregate form that helps us to improve our products and services for you.
Use of Your Personal Information
We collect Your personal information for limited purposes. It is so we can provide you with information and support services. We may use your personal information to:

- communicate with you, and to notify you of new or changed services
- carry out marketing or training related to our service offerings, but not those provided by third-parties
- assist with the resolution of technical support issues or other issues relating to our Apps
- comply with required law

You must keep your password safe. You should notify us as soon as possible of any breach or misuse of your password, and change this immediately if any breach occurs.

Sensitive information will be used by us only:

- For a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose

Third Parties
Where reasonable and practicable to do so, we will collect your Personal Information only from you. However, in some circumstances we may be provided with information by third parties. In such a case we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are made aware of the information provided to us by the third party.
Disclosure of Personal Information
Your Personal Information may be disclosed in a number of circumstances including the following:
- Third parties where you consent to the use or disclosure; and
- Where required or authorised by law.
We will not disclose your Personal Information for any reason outside the terms of this agreement without your express consent. We may only disclose your information without your consent if required to do so by law.
Security of Personal Information
Your Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure.
When your Personal Information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your Personal Information. However, most of the Personal Information is or will be stored in client files which will be kept by us for a minimum of 7 years.
We will collect, but not hold, Credit Card information for the purpose of collecting payment for our services. Your Credit Card information will be authenticated and stored using a Third Party Service, who will provide the highest level of security.
We will only hold your information while it is necessary to do so. This means that some payment information will be held for several years for taxation purposes, even if you discontinue the use of our services
Access to your Personal Information
You may access the Personal Information we hold about you and to update and/or correct it, subject to certain exceptions. If you wish to access your Personal Information, please contact us in writing or by submitting a request to marion@australiangovernanceacademy.com
Australian Governance Academy will not charge any fee for your access request, but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information.
We will process this request as soon as possible and provide you with the required information if we are permitted to do so by law. In order to protect your Personal Information we may require identification from you before releasing the requested information.
Maintaining the Quality of your Personal Information
It is important to us that your Personal Information is up to date. We will take reasonable steps to make sure that your Personal Information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. If you find that the information we have is not up to date or is inaccurate, please advise us as soon as practicable so we can update our records and ensure we can continue to provide quality services to you.
Cookies
In providing you with an improved website we may use Cookies. A Cookie is a small file that is stored on your hard drive which may include an anonymous and unique identifier. You are able to refuse the use of Cookies through your internet browser settings, however this may render parts of our Website unusable.
We also use cookies to track overall Website usage, and track and report on your interaction with our Website. This information is anonymised and reported on with Google Analytics. We have enabled advertising tracking from Google Adwords to assess the performance of our AdWord campaigns. We do not otherwise sell or distribute any personalised information collected with Cookies to any third party or partner.

This Policy may change from time to time and is available on our website.
All updates, with identified changes will be placed on our website. You will be notified of major changes through e-mail, unless you have opted out of e-mail communication. Your continued use of our services will be deemed as acceptance to any amendments to the Policy.
E-Mail Communication
You can opt-out of email communications through marion@australiangovernanceacademy and we will remove you from our mailing list. We will still continue to email you account information (ie. invoices and statements).
